Huayi Compressor Barcelona, which sells compressors under the Cubigel brand, says that its Green Cooling Ranges improve compressor COP between 20% and 30% in comparison with standard ranges.
The Green Cooling Ranges comprise high-efficiency, natural refrigerant (propane/R290) and variable-speed compressors. The combination of these features is particularly impactful, says Huayi Compressor Barcelona.
“The major environmental benefits are obtained combining the use of the R290 with the design criteria of high efficiency ranges,” the company says. “These compressor models, in their more advanced version, can save up to 50% of energy when compared with standard efficiency series of R404A thanks to its high-efficiency mechanics, its advanced motor winding design and the optional running capacitor concept.”
Huayi Compressor Barcelona, part of China-based Huayi Group, specializes in designing, manufacturing and selling hermetic compressors and condensing units for the light commercial refrigeration market. In 2013, Huayi Group acquired Cubigel Compressors, founding Huayi Compressor Barcelona.

Reporting on its 2022 results, Huayi Group says it has already sold 72 million compressors across its three brands, Cubigel, Jiaxipera and Huayi; around 60 million were purchased by the light commercial sector. Huayi Group says it holds around 35% of the global hermetic compressors market, with an estimated 25% of its units sold being variable-speed compressors.
Huayi stressed its commitment to be green as “one of the company’s responsibilities.”
