NDL Industries, a Canadian manufacturer of valves and fittings for CO2 (R744)-based HVAC&R systems, is looking to strengthen its European presence as it exhibits at the Chillventa trade show for the first time.

“We started our business in Europe about two years ago, so, for us, this will be a big event,” Tal Gutbir, the company’s President, told NaturalRefrigerants.com in a recent interview.

In addition to new European customers, Gutbir noted that many of its U.S., Australian and Canadian clients will be attending Chillventa.

The biennial exhibition will take place at the NürnbergMesse exhibition center in Nuremberg, Germany, October 8–10. Chillventa last took place in 2022, when it welcomed more than 30,000 visitors. Organizers have said they expect to see similar attendance figures this year.

Showcasing CO2

NDL will be showcasing several of its technologies at Chillventa – booth 658 in hall 7A – including its CO2 Service Tee, which is made specifically for installing a service valve where three pipes or tubes connect.

“It saves a few connections of joints by not needing to reduce the tee to a small size to accept the service valve itself,” explained Gutbir. “I believe we are the only company that is offering such a product.”

NDL’s DN65 stainless-steel ball valve for industrial or large commercial transcritical CO2 applications will also be on display at the three-day event.

“It’s one of the largest sizes available for ball valves, especially for CO2,” explained Lukas Gurevičius, Product Manager at NDL. “We test our valves with a pressure as high as 600 bars [8,702psi], so it’s also one of the sturdiest valves available in the market.”

In recognition of the importance of the trade show, NDL is coming to Chillventa with a strong contingent who will conduct face-to-face meetings and technical talks at the company’s booth. In addition to Gutbir and Gurevičius, the team will include Rick Baxter, Managing Director, and Amit Gutbir, Vice President of Sales.

NDL was founded in 1987 as a mechanical engineering firm for the refrigeration industry in Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. In 1998, as new refrigerants emerged, the company shifted from consulting to producing air-conditioning and refrigeration copper fittings. NDL now manufactures a variety of products for the HVAC&R and plumbing sectors and has been making CO₂ products for the past two years.
