Commercial refrigeration manufacturer Epta is focused on providing integrated sustainable solutions, with its EptaTechnica brand offering modular CO2 (R744) systems, new Zenith cabinets compatible with CO2 or propane (R290) and Servitization equipment management.

The company launched its new brand, cabinets and service program at Euroshop 2026. The event was held February 22‒26 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

“Together with its customers, Epta manufactures solutions tailored to specific needs and markets,” the company said, adding that it seeks to leverage new technologies to support green transitions.

New branding: Through EptaTechnica, Epta provides CO2 refrigeration solutions for retailers ranging from small-format stores to hypermarkets.

  • For convenience stores, ECO2Compacta offers medium-temperature (MT) capacities from 15 to 45kW (4.3 to 12.8TR) and low-temperature (LT) capacities from 0 to 9kW (0 to 2.6TR) in a standardized package. Suitable for indoor and outdoor installation, the unit’s single-side access simplifies installation and maintenance, according to Epta.
  • On the other end of the size spectrum, the ECO2GIANT offers a configurable CO2 refrigeration platform that can integrate heat recovery and air-conditioning. Developed for the Australian market, the unit is designed for operating pressures of up to 130bar (1,885psi) on the high side and 80bar (1,160psi) on the low side.
  • In Dubai the company is commissioning a 370kW (105.2TR) ECO2GIANT system for a hypermarket, according to Epta Middle East General Manager Andrea Cavalet.

More efficient: The new Zenith Advance cabinet delivers average energy savings of 36% compared to the previous generation, which Epta attributes to a redesigned airflow system, optimized evaporators, lower fan speeds and improved insulation.

  • Designed for MT refrigeration product display, the vertical cabinet is available in configurations of up to 3.75m (12.3ft) long with up to six doors.
  • The self-contained Zenith Advance Integral uses a single R290 refrigeration circuit and compressor, while remote CO2 versions connect to the store’s central transcritical CO2 refrigeration system.

Beyond equipment sales: Epta’s operational and commercial Servitization framework supports predictive maintenance and energy optimization of display cabinets through remote monitoring.

  • As a proof-of-concept technology, the company’s Door Opening Tracker uses thermal mapping of hot and cold zones within a cabinet to help identify energy-saving opportunities and product replenishment patterns.
  • Epta has also introduced Glassview, a digital signage concept that integrates advertising into refrigerated cabinets.

Expanding operations: In February Epta acquired Hauser, an Austrian manufacturer of self-contained and remote refrigeration cabinets, as well as industrial refrigeration systems.

  • Hauser operates production facilities in Austria and the Czech Republic.
  • “By combining competencies, technologies and scale, we significantly enhance our ability to drive sustainable and digital innovation,” said Marco Nocivelli, CEO of Epta. “The acquisition of Hauser further strengthens our offering along the full value chain.”
